» Other Projects:
November, Simon's collaboration with Bernard Trontin of The Young Gods had been released on the swiss label Shayo Records (Martyn Bates, Sally Doherty, Julia Kent a.o.)
Steven Burrows currently is working on a solo project (called 'Black River') and will be featured as guest musician on the upcoming Dark Orange album as also Emer will be.
» Oh crap - that blows. Fortunately we didn't plan to go there (this time) and we didn't succeed to convince my aunt to go. She is 79 and was at least tempted to go.
We were at the plage noire though. Pretty strange venue for a wave/gothic festival (70s holiday park). The trees played in a room which was not really a perfect fit but they did a great job! Typical disturbances at festivals (people coming and going etc.) made it less easy to really enjoy it. It was nice to be able to be present during the sound check though and listen to Simon ;-) Simon complained about "what's that fucking noise" as one band started playing on the tent stage (can't remember which one it was - Apotygma Bezerk maybe) but then added "nevermind, we know where we are".
One thing that really annoyed me (and seems to be common at concerts in Germany) is people chatting during the the gig. Especially annoying during an acoustic set. The concert in the Luminaire in London was a delight in this regard! Looking forward to the next gigs - hopefully the London date is workable so it'll be yet another excuse to travel to London :)
